Our Story

It started with a simple French press and a bag of grocery store beans. Somehow it escalated into a kitchen counter that looks like a small cafe, a grinder collection that costs more than our first car, and a family rule that nobody talks to Dad before his morning pour-over is done.

Who We Are

Sanford is the self-appointed head of R&D. He runs the site and can tell you the extraction time of every brewing method within 3 seconds. Mom is the voice of reason who reminds us that a $3,000 espresso machine might not be strictly necessary (she's usually wrong). Our little sister drinks hot chocolate but has surprisingly strong opinions about milk frothers. And our golden retriever Biscuit sleeps through every tasting session but wakes up immediately when the grinder starts.

Why Trust Us

We buy our own gear, brew hundreds of cups, and write about what we actually experience. No brand has ever paid us to say something nice. We participate in affiliate programs, but our picks would be exactly the same if we didn't. If a $30 hand grinder outperforms a $200 electric one, we'll tell you.

A Note from Sanford

I started this site because I was tired of reading reviews that felt like they were written by someone who never touched the product. My family and I actually buy this stuff, use it, argue about it at dinner, and then write about what happened. This is what I love doing in my free time, and I hope our reviews help you make better decisions without the usual marketing noise.
